I will make no bones about this, there are definitely much better Chinese restaurants and takeaways to visit in the city, I have visited Szechuan on three occasions now, each time I try to give it the benefit of the doubt. Each time it gets another chance, it lets me down, not in spectacular style, but each time is a soft blow.Myself and my family like Chinese food, as I suspect many Scottish people do, my dad and I visited here for a dinner together on my last visit. It was a shame that the food didn't match up to the company, for the third time. It's not bad food, when you look at it your stomach doesn't instantly shut itself down, but it does promise so much. It is presented very well and the service is actually quite good, but taste and texture wise the chef has let himself down.Unfortunately it was third time unlucky for me and I can't envisage a scenario where I would ever go back, especially as there isn't a lack of Chinese eateries in Edinburgh.
