this is an excellent Indian restaurant in a good location for charing cross and opposite to the premier inn, where we lived, we have made a note to return a night and were glad that we. it was quiet in the night, but I understand that the place is busy at the weekend, it was clean, the service was good and the prices decent. the menu options were not the most extensive I came, but eating was excellent, perhaps not the best Indian I ever had, but very good, scalable portions and everything in a thoroughly fine meal. they are not short with restaurants in glasgow, but this place is certainly recommended.

I stopped late on a weekday (at least in the regular after 18 o'clock in glasgow, although this was closer to 9:30 o'clock) after serving in numerous other pubs and restaurants that had already stopped. the buffet was closed, but they were happy to offer food from the al a carte menu. this is a family company that proudly shows the property. waseem, owner of the 3rd generation, claimed that the restaurant has been in operation for over 40 years, one of the oldest Indian restaurants in glasgow. such a charming man, he served me personally, which is probably a good thing, as the original server was a bit rough around the edges. apart from a pleasant sharpener, waseem ensured that my selections were suitable for my taste. it was refreshing to see such engagement with the customer, especially at the end of a long day for him. the restaurant decor is tastefully indish and immaculate. fresh white bed linen decorate every table. the lighting is sufficiently bright to avoid the Dungeon appearance preferred by some restaurants. I had a spicy suppe and a few chopped lammsamosas for a starter. the samosas were perfect and beautiful accompanied by a sweet creamy sauce. the Dahl soup had enough cing to heal my haare when I had any. I had something with a butter chicken, basmati rice and a black bean-green dish that were all made beautiful. some cobra beer and garlic naan helped me wash my meal and suck the wonderful soße of butter huh. the naan was literally too hot to touch as it was delivered to my table. made with fresh garlic and without butter (this is the most tasty wise the owner says) there was no doubt about the garlic - his essentialness could not be denied. it was delicious. all in all, a great culinary experience. Maybe it's just the timing or restaurant has improved in the last year or two, but in my opinion, the Koh-I-Noor deserves more recognition than it was given.
